About Northshore School of Art

After requests from many of my former students The Northshore School of Art was established in 1999 as an independent art school (Sydney Australaia). The School was founded on the principle anyone can learn to draw and paint if you have the desire and motivation to succeed as has been shown over the years. Initially we teach our students in a basic “Hands On” method of “Learning to See” objects in a realistic way, building on your powers of observation, and increasing confidence you can draw, in a short time you will begin your first oil painting. We also specialise in art history which encompasses, philosophy, theology, romanticism, impressionism, to enhance your understanding of (what, why, where) painting and drawing fits into the great scheme of life. This will increase your art appreciation, and give rise to many creative ideas.

Ako Lamble

Ako graduated Tokyo Photographic college and came to Sydney in 1993. Joined Northshore School of Art as a student in 2002 that’s when she first experienced painting with oils, later on she married to Mike. She is a self-taught web designer and has done digital art since late 90’s using “Corel Painter”, “Adobe illustrator” and “Adobe Photoshop”. In 2010 when iPad came along, she started painting with iPad, she discovered that iPad would help so many people who is in a similar situation to her – having limited energy and time, help them doing creative things by using in-between-time. That’s her motivation to teach iPad Art at NSA. From 2014 Ako has seriously committed herself to doing and also teaching watercolour in the class and private tuition. Her personal project, paint roses from life daily has been still going since 9th August 2015.  Her motto is Keep up our creativity “little and often”.
