Being a first time mum, I don\u2019t think I realised the full scope of how things would change. It took me a while to get back into painting and only recently after 2 years did it happen. Having said that, I have always been committed to and been a keen supporter of artistic pursuits of all kinds. During the last couple of years I have made many mixed media cards, downloaded a few arty apps, gone back into part time art teaching but never had the strength to go get that canvas and start painting again. I went along to one of the evening classes and just started slowly, not going every week but getting there with a familiar theme\u2026 good old still life. Enjoying being back into it, loving my oil paints ( sorry but water mixable)and having the silence of no interruptions from home life with Van Morrison playing in the background. My focus and goal is to finish the small painting this year and start a larger one in early 2013. Mike has been very flexible with my comings and goings at NSA which has been great so here\u2019s to a new balance of one of many roles many of us play in life. It\u2019s hard but sometimes you just have to make room for the creative energy inside.<\/p>\n
